Celebrating Birthdays

The week after we arrived in the states, both our older children here in the states had a birthday. Their birthdays are only 2 days apart. First we had Josh's birthday--he was 28! We surely have missed them! Josh is a roofer and works long (and hard) days as long as the weather is good.



Then came Amanda's birthday--she was 25! Amanda is a chef and so we got some things she needed like a bamboo steamer and mixer for her birthday. She's a great cook and makes some real yummy things that often goes over well at family get togethers:)



We'd brought some Chinese style candles for their birthdays. You know the kind--the ones that flame up real big then fold out into a flower with a lighted candle on each petal while playing the happy birthday theme song. That is IF it works the way it's supposed to! We thought it'd be a fun change from the usual.
